1 cup chopped nuts (Optional. If omitting, add 1 to 2 Tbsp. of all-purpose flour.)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.
Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually beat in flour mixture.
Stir in morsels and nuts.
Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets (or measure 1 oz for each cookie.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
1.5 Oz cookies at ~9 minutes makes ~27 larger cookies that are softer
Pan Cookie Variations:
Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. Makes 4 dozen bars.
Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease 9 x 13-inch pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 22 to 27 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. If cookie dough is 3/4" or thicker bake for 27 to 33 minutes.
If you like crispy cookies use all white sugar. 50/50 white/brown sugars gives you crispy around the edges and moist in the center.
