1/2 pint plain yogurt
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/4 tablespoon coarse black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1 to 4 garlic cloves, minced (to taste)
2 broiler/fryer chickens cut up into pieces
Pre-heat oven 350F
Combine all ingredients except chicken; mix well
Pierce chicken pieces thoroughly with tines of fork and brush generously with yogurt mixture on all sites
Let stand 30 minutes
Place on foil lined pan
Cook chicken in oven 30-40 minutes, or until cooked thoroughly
Serve with plain or saffron rice and green peas.
This seems to be a pretty easy version of Chicken Tikka. Some versions include more spices and a Masala sauce.
