1 bottle white Karo syrup
2 cans sweetened condensed milk
1 cup sugar
1/4 pound margarine
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup nuts (optional)
Stir White Karo Syrup, condensed milk, sugar, margarine and salt together in a large sauce pan over low heat until completely melted.
When it starts to boil raise the heat and boil for 25 minutes, stirring occasionally from the bottom and sides at 250 degrees on a candy thermometer.
Add vanilla and nuts (optional)
Pour into a well buttered pan and let sit for awhile
Cut into squares before it hardens too much and wrap individually in wax paper
You will need a candy thermometer to make this properly!
