2 ¼ cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 2/3 cup sugar
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 eggs
1 cup milk
Preheat oven 350 degrees
Coat two 9” round cake pans with cooking spray or butter, lightly flour
Mix flour, baking powder and salt
Beat sugar and butter on medium speed until fluffy
On low speed beat in eggs, one at a time
On low speed beat in vanilla extract
On low speed alternately beat in flour mix and milk
Divide batter between the two pans
Cook in oven 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees
Run knife around edges of pan and remove to racks to cool
Add mini chocolate chips to make this even better! My favorite birthday cake growing up, Mini Chocolate Chip Cake. Frost as a double layer cake.
Or bake as a single layer, frosting optional.
